David and Claire were planning their I Do’s and wanted Claire’s father, a retired minister, to officiate the wedding. They invited only their family who live in New York, Washington D.C., the Bay Area, Sacramento, Portland and a town several hours away from Chicago. They chose Chicago as the destination of the wedding which meant that everyone had to travel. No problem, David Ourisman is an independent luxury travel consultant which meant that the whole wedding party, including me, stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago. The ceremony and party were held at Spaggia Restaurant, one of Chicago’s best. It was an intimate celebration for twenty. After the event, I took Claire and David to Millennium Park to take a few iconic photos at the Bean and with the city-scape as the background.
I know David as we are colleagues in the Better Referral Network chapter of BNI. In fact, several members of our Berkeley Wedding Group contributed to making Claire and David’s wedding so beautiful. Clay Kirchenbauer, an amazing jewelry designer created their wedding rings; Laura Anderson, graphic designer, designed their wedding invitations; and Aviva Morger hair stylist at Keter Salon on 4th Street in Berkeley styled their hair.
I was the lucky one who got to travel with them and follow them around like a paparazzi documenting the entire trip including getting the marriage license, seeing sights and the photographing the wedding. This was my first time in Chicago and I love it! There is so much to see, the architecture is out of this world and the food is also amazing. It didn’t hurt staying at the Four Seasons and the Ritz Carleton either.
Now our lovely couple are honeymooning in Bali–first class of course. Congratulations Claire and David.
